I really wish Boris and his health minister would stop dishing out the bull., telling us all that the UK is really well prepared for this virus. The battle plan, having more people manning the 111 number, What for? for them to tell you to self isolate, that's if you get through at all, you may have to listen to a recorded message of the lords prayer while waiting for them to tell you that.
He also states that the NHS as stockpiles of medicines, ( to treat what)?
Well prepared, or even partly prepared would be to have done what China did, masses of beds on stand by, and a lot more than 50/ 500 ventilators in stock. Maybe time to stop giving £3 a month to all the other crapp, and divert ones £3 a month to ventilators, as it don't look like the government worry to much about not having them. Rant over:0)

111 is useless anyway. You can Google their actual questions online yourself and get to the same answer they will give you, by the same method.
They don't seem too worried, anyway. They are allowing suspected carriers to carry on as usual, without even knowing the incubation period.

From the WHO,

The period of fourteen days is one that appears to be one that is used widely.

Are there many instances of folk being tested as positive outwith fourteen days?

TCL, there was one reported today, which I will try to find a link for. He says he had the virus before anyone else was officially confirmed.
But, in any case, when they first decided on a 14 day quarantine, they had no idea if that was appropriate or not. They are basically just seeing "what happens" rather than trying to prevent it first.

I do not work in the NHS but in the last year I have had cause to need their facilities twice and I do not share your standard anti NHS rhetoric. My treatment in both cases was speedy, accurate, and exemplary and I have full confidence that it will deal expertly with this virus. Do try and look objectively at these things rather than letting your political stance distort the reality.

I don't think it's unreasonable to suggest that the NHS is overstretched even as it's excellent. A serious epidemic would likely test its resources to breaking point.

yes jim but a serious outbreak would induce EMG measures from the government, at the moment we have < 50 cases. TC wants us to build Chinese style prefab hospital, we could and would if it becomes necessary. I'm still waiting for the "porkies" to be evidenced.
