In recent months I've been experiencing night-time stabs of pain in my feet, rather like sharp electric shocks lasting a micro second. Last night, for example, I was asleep on my side when I received a particularly sharp 'stab' in my left foot which caused my leg to jump towards my chest and wake me up but with no further pain or ache.
I had surgery ( successful) for rectal cancer two years ago and have Hyper-tension and Atrial Fibrilation. Medication is: Bisoprolol 1.25mg daily and Edoxaban 60mg, I am over 80 years of age.
Any info and advice would be welcome,
Cheers.

What you are describing is neuropathic pain which can vary in intensity from severe pain to " no big deal" and your pain seems to be in the latter category.
There are many causes for neuropathic pain from vitamin related neuropathies to arthritic nerve pain (sciatica).
Also diabetics may suffer from neuropathic pain.
I you case it is probably a side effect of you Bisopropol and is a small price to pay for the benefits bestowed on your heart by that beta blocker (Bisoprpol).

Sorry for delay in answering your helpful reply, Sqad.
Yes, Bisoprolol 1.25mg daily is my correct dose and I'm happy to carry on with my' No Big Deal' situation. Also, I'll see if my GP will arrange a blood test to check on my blood sugar level.
Many thanks Sqad. Im sure many ABers like me value and trust your advice.
