I know a little girl who has been suffering from above from the age 8 - she will be 18 this week and life has not been easy for her.

I have been informed by the parents she is not well but of course on the "front" of things - people would not suspect anything cos she always looks and dresses good.

I am asking - does anybody fully recover from the above illness.

If it starts that early, probably not. She might be able to take medication that will help, but considering it's already been 10 years, I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't help. Therapy might help. A change of environments might also help.
That's virtually impossible to answer JJ, Mental illness is such a wide ranging term and can cover a myriad of things.

With help, support and counselling and possibly medication (depending on what ails her) she will likely learn to adapt her life and hopefully prosper.

hopefully prosper but she is so full of angst and constantly looks distressed/depressed, however the amazing thing for me (for her) she has held down a boyfriend of 3 years - so is she that bad?
I'm sorry JJ, I simply cannot answer your question based on those few words.
You can easily hold down a partner and still be mentally ill. My partner and I have been dating for almost 4 years and I have epilepsy and ADHD.

Mamy - it was just a question to the general ABers.
He may be her stability JJ and hopefully she will grow in confidence as I say, with the right support.
Oh sorry.
My nephew has had a touch of autism+ aspergers most of his young life. Hes 21 now and even though he has a great deal of independence, doesnt need to be accompanied everywhere he goes. Hes had several girlfriends. The last one lasted about 3 yrs.His parents still worry about his future.
