I hope the little boy wasn't badly hurt.

Bit of an extreme (knee-jerk) reaction from the OP - doesn't say how old the child is, if he suffered long-term damage or if there were any other aggravating factors e.g. assault/abuse.

Kids alive isnt he? Parents are gonna go on being addicts ( take it from me) jsut take the children away from bad parents - - - BUT "Care" even now isnt a bed of roses

memo to self: keep away from benzoyl-ecgonine....

it is benzoh-aisle and not benz-oil like olive oil

kids from windows - commonly  bounce

big thing about explaining why - ( some things scale down and somethings er dont - )

I am not sure what I wd do if I picked up a child, and cdnt get an answer from the  flat he fell out of ....

( a nighbour kept a child in her house and demanded the police be called as he wasnt being fed - -  lawful apparently)

it wasn't their child - just being (not) minded

it wasn't their child - just being (not) minded - - -  eek missed that

sorry it's 7^^^^^^

oops wrong place sorry

The child could have been theirs but reported in such a way to protect the child's identity.  The child may well be in care now.

The sentence was too light.

Just look at the state of them.

Damn savages....etc

If you sentence according to looks the country would be in a sorry state

No, separate sentence = separate comment.

Did Eric Clapton get 18 months? His son fell out of a window!

Was Eric off his head on cocaine at the time?

Eric wasn't there at the time.

//Was Eric off his head on cocaine at the time?//

Probably not - rock stars never took illegal drugs!

Don't get me wrong here, this is an appalling incident.  However the woman picked the child up (eventually) from the neighbour and took him to hospital.   Both pleaded guilty to neglect.  They are in a very sad state, yes, I know, probably through their own fault or weaknesses but they need help and I hope they get it in prison.  I also agree that 18 months isn't enough when they'll probably be released in half that time.  But who in their right mind leaves a precious child with two coke addicts?  I can only guess another coke addict.    A sad case indeed but this couple aren't the only ones at fault.

As Barry said - he MAY have been their child.

Not according to the BBC report.  Says a "child they were looking after"
