New Specs..

For the first time I'm booked for a home eye test.

I'm assuming changing new specs is a daunting business, possibly done virtually?

I'm not looking forward to doing that as I've tried that online, so myself.

Choosing a new frame is the best part bearing in mind I shall be wearing them daily, for around 2 years.

If I were to choose a couple or 3 pair from cheaper outlets would I be allowed to do that?  I've read the company charge a premium if I choose that route.?

I've worn specs 77 yrs..since 10 yrs old no not new to the set up..still worrying me how it's all going to pan out...

Old age brings its own problems..

Has anyone used othe whole process now.

They bring a case of frames for you to try.  What company are you using?

If the company has images of their frames on their website it would be a good idea if you had a good look and told them in advance of the ones you might like.  They could add them to the selection they bring.

If you want extra pairs there is nothing to stop you buying them elsewhere, you will have a copy of your prescription.

Thank you both. It's reasueubg ti know its actually frames they bring. I've tried them online but they all look huge  I'm obviously not doing it properly.  It's Specsavers where I usually go. Thank you

I like the suggestion of giving them an idea of the time of frames you prefer. Eg frameless, dark or light, pretty or plain. Then they can narrow it down and bring a selection of that type.

Unfortunately the fashion at the moment seems to be for larger frames, you may find looking at frameless will give you a better choice of something smaller.

I once tried on frames I fancied only to be telt by the assistant that they made me look like Hitler...

Barry 1010 thanks for the link. I can see they bring a lot of equipment with them. Very reassuring video on that link.

I'm more confident now having seen that. Thankyou.

My appointment is in 3 weeks.
