oi at least answer my question sis!
they are for holding the hoogamaflips in place.
Do you know nothing?!
They are like an alarm system, if an infection is trying to get into your body, your tonsils flare up to protect everything further down your throat and into your lungs etc.. Similarly if you are under the weather/run down they flare up for the same reason. I think (but I could be wrong) this is why some local health care autorities are reluctant for young children to have them removed. Especially as the younger generations are becomeing less immune to things, more dependant on mediactions, asthma is on the increase, we are developing more skin complaints etc.... when I was young I was probably happy eating worms and mud, rubbing doc leaves on my nettle stings and was pretty healthy.
I have jusr re-read my answer, I sound like I lived with Anne of Green Gables. I'd like to point out i'm actually 27, not 80+.

I need to spend more time with my nephews and neices!!
