i know your supposed to drink something stupid like 8 glasses of water a day but i physically cannot drink that amount of water, it makes me gag. is it so terrible to add a bit of orange/lemon squash in there too to make it a bit more tasty? a friend told me that adding squash practically cancels out the whole point of drinking water. is this right?

I had the same problem before an operation. There is a simple answer to this. You can buy flavoured bottled water from Tesco's et al which are able to consume in large amounts without feeling gaga.
Well I never feel the need to drink all this water you are supposed to and I just don't. Doesn't seem to do me any harm - if I am thirsty I drink, if I am not I don't.
No thats fine, I asked my dr about this once and she said add anything too it to give it a bit of flavour! She said tea and coffee are also counted even though some people think they have the opposite effect!
Be careful with flavoured water as a lot contain artifical sweeteners & various additives.
I read that if you mix apple juice with water it help you to absorb the water more quickly and rehydrates you more quickly. That might make it more drinkable.

I have been doing Weight Watchers for a while and was unable to drink 2 litres of water a day. I was told to add a sugar free juice not too strong. Amazingly I can drink 2 litres quite easily now.

Anything that is sugarfree usually contains artificial sweetener. Some of these can cause diarrehoa. Sorbitol being the main one.
