I've just been prescribed this by my GP - Does anyone have any experience of using it? any tips for success with it?

Hiya Janine, I had those a few years ago but before the doctor prescribed them I had to lose 5IBs first. That was the rule of the BMA at the time. Seemed a bit daft really as if I could have lost wieght on my own I would'nt have asked for the Xenical in the 1st place! They worked a bit too much for me as I was on the loo more than I was off and hardly dared go out. I stick to slimming world these days. Daisy.

The more fat you take in the worse your side effects will be. I just got them this week and because I had changed my diet to have less fat I have not had the bad side effects. Good luck with the weight loss how ever you do it.

The weight loss was part of the licence from the medicines licencing agency - it has now changed and you don't need to lose weight however side effects of diarrhoea are due to the fat in the diet - you need to reduce it. Weight reduction is about more exercise and less calories
