Diabetes 2 no going back.

Just informed I have diabetes 2. Fifty-five year old male, is this the end? Can I have occasional whisky or the odd beer or two this Christmas, or am I doomed to dry turkey and a sprout. Fellow diabetics, how do you manage?

My best friend is type 1 (insulin dependant) and he drinks booze and eats fine. You just need to be more aware of what you eat & drink. It's not the end of your life.

With type 2 you just need to alter your eating & cut down on alcohol intake to prevent it getting worse.

Your GP should be able to give advice on what to do & not do.
