How can i make the gym more interesting?

what do you guys do? i usually do a bit of running on treadmill then some weights.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Well, I'm not a guy but my sessions at the gym normally feel like penance and the only way I can get through my sessions on the cross trainer, the bike and the treadmill are to shut my eyes and listen to some decent classical music on my MP3 player. (Not everybody's cup of tea, I know.).
Does your gym have a swimming pool? If it does, maybe a gym and swim session would give you a little more variety
On the other hand if you're finding the exercise just plain boring, you could always download an audio book or a new language tape onto your player and multitask ! One person at my gym reads The Times from cover to cover on her crosstrainer session.

i always listen to music on my ipod as it enables you to train harder and longer as you're disctracted from what you are doing.
also vary the machines you use and use them in a different order.
does your gym do classes such as aerobics, spinning, body attack, body combat - these are a much more fun way of getting fit and you work a lot harder in a class than you would by working out in the gym alone.
