My aunt lives in the USA and has done for the past 15 years. She still retains a British passport , and pays tax on her British pension.

She intends to return to the UK permanently, will she automatically be entitled to NHS treatment? Does she just sign on with a Doctor? Is there a waiting period before she can get treatment?

In this country, EVERYONE is entitled to medical treatment, even if they have just stepped off a plane. people who are not legitimate citizens will be chased for payment, but this is not the case for your aunt as she still holds a passport and is planning on returning permanently, so it wont be a problem. hope this has answered your question x
