Hi

I recently had a ECG and the result came back and I have shown Ischemic changes and need to be referred to a cardioligist. Now for some reason I am very scared of doctors and just accepted this and went on my way. But now I have a logn wait to see the cardioligist and I dont know exactly why.

Could anybody explain to me what this means exactly? I know its not a medical channel exaclt so cant be taken as medical advice but I was just looking for some clarification if possible.

Thanks in advance

the prefix, isch - means deficiency. it means there are changes in the blood flow, usually as a result of narrowing of the coronary arteries. a cardiologist will examine you further and try to identify why the changes have occured and determine how to treat it. please try not to worry too much, there are many interventions which will help. if you are still worried, see you GP who can explain things further, and suggest ways of helping until you see the specialist. best of luck x
I am indeed a medical doctor, but nigella has answered it so well, that I have nothing further to add. purpose of this is to say "well done nigella"
thank you sqad, that means so much too me!
