Okay, what's up with my scalp? It is itching NONSTOP! I know it's not lice (I've checked because I work at a children's daycare center), but I can't figure out what could be causing it to itch so bad. Let's get one thing straight, I know I have dandruff, but never this bad! Whenever I scratch my scalp, I have to clean my nails because layers of skin are constantly being torn off. My scratching has gotten to the point where it causes bleeding, but the itch doesn't seem to go away! Does anyone have any suggestions on what might be wrong (before I have to spend a ridiculous amount of money to see a doctor) ?

I quite often get this in the heat of the summer - could it be that causing it?
Or you could be a bit allergic to whatever shampoo or styling products you use.

Sunsilk do a good inexpensive shampoo and conditioner for this problem (its in a peachy coloured bottle called "Itch Relief"), I found it worked for me although my problem wasn't as severe as yours
have you been sunburnt at all?? sometimes you can burn your scalp and it can start to peel and get itchy!
You may have developed scirosis of the scalp. Do you have big flakes come off that are thicker than the dandruff?
If it continues, you may want to get it checked out at the doctors.
Try using T-Gel and tea tree products also.
Try an excellent shampoo for dry itchy scalp called Eucerin, it really works, Boots sell it.
It's either psoriasis or a fungal infection. Before buying any treatment shampoos, it's best to double check with your doctor.
For years I have tested so many techniques to help my Psoriasis, and some things have helped more than others. Some things I have done have worked very well. Many other people have different stories on what helped them the most. This website is here to help you learn from those stories.http://www.mypsoriasistreatment.com/
