Dribbling at night
8 Answers
I'm becoming aware that i drool at night. It's pretty disgusting as i wake up and find its all over the pillowcase.
I'm in my late 40's and this has only started recently.
Has anyone come across this problem and know of any cures

hi I am quite embarrassed to admit this but I too dribble when I am asleep and have done ever since I can remember! It is because I cannot breathe through my nose so therefore sleep with my mouth wide open I even wake up and realise it myself! My daughter must also be the same because I have noticed marks on her pillow the same. I don't really no any cures as such but if I don't have a cold I use nose spray ie otrivine/vicks etc enables me to breathe through my nose most of the night and this definitely helps.
I must breath through my mouth at night because i always wake up feeling parched.
I've not really found out why i cant breathe through my nose at night. Its not blocked in the usual sense ( Cold etc ) One doctor suggested it might be the palette ( not sure of spelling ) softening with old age and blocking passageways. Not sure if this is the same thing as they have in those " stop snoring with laser surgery " adverts ( it might be something else altogether )
I'm not on any medication at the moment
