Like all shoes we buy, there should be a breaking in period. It doesn't matter how comfortable they might be. Breaking shoes in is good for the shoe *and* the foot. and pays in the long-run (your feet 'marry' your shoes.)
Leather inners are *much* better for your feet than synthetic. In case that's a point worth pondering, then consider that a lot of manufacturers are either producing leather inners and outers, of leather inners with synthetic outers; that should tell us all something.
As for your poor 'tooties'? Micropore, that is cut with a 'U' shape to compensate for the curvature of the toes and a small surgical mat; shiny on one side, applied to the wound and very thin should do the trick.
