Try a non-tablet alternative: Sea Bands. Worn on the wrist, they stopped me from feeding the fish.
I went on a cruise a couple of years ago and tried the wrist bands. They didnt work for me and I ended up having to go to the Medical Wing. They prescribed me Stugeron which work fantasticly well.

I do think it is personal choice and what will work for one person may not work for another.

Maybe take a cople of different types of sea sickness tablets if your not sure (better the using your insurance as it can cost a fortune and can be difficult to recover the cost back).

Would also recommend taking anti hystermines and something for an upset stomach. These were lifesavers on our trip.
Have you ever tried ginger tea? i find it the best for all kinds of nausea.
Crystalised Ginger is also excellent for helping all types of nausea. Even morning sickness.
I agree with the suggestion of Sturgeron - I get terrible travel sickness and have always used this. It's very effective and I've never had a problem with it.
