I'm thinking about changing to contacts after a lifetime of wearing glasses and wonder if anyone knows the best value deal available?

Also there is a make called Daysoft which offer their lenses very cheaply, and I tried them. They were the worst lenses I've ever tried - avoid them like the plague! I got blister packs with no lenses in them, with split lenses etc and the lenses themselves do not stick to your eye when you try to put them in so they fall out really easily! They do however stick to themselves and tend to curl up into a little (unusable) ball! They are cheaper but considering you sometimes have to go through 5 blister packs to find one that isn't split / chipped / missing / curled into a ball, it's a bit of a false economy!

If you go to Asda mariner make sure its one that someone can recommend to you. My hubby has worn glasses for years, fancied lenses and went to Asda because of the convenience of evening appts and the special offers. There followed a catalogue of mistakes including him being given the wrong prescription altogether twice to try out around the store, his eye test being repeated twice by different opticians because they said it hadnt been complete the first time and finally after him persevering for a few months with the new lenses, struggling with the vision they gave him and them never really being comfortable I made him go back to his original optician to find he should never have been prescribed lenses in the first place for several reasons. Not suggesting all Asdas are the same, just go by recommendation like most things.

My contacts (worn them since I was 14 so 15 years now) are from Specsavers and only about 10 a month for monthly ones.
If wearing for the first time I'd definitely recommend going through a proper opticians who can help you find the right ones for you, give a trial and change if necessary and be there for any initial problems like conjunctivitis or scratches while getting used to them if the need arose.
Once you' find the right ones and are used to them you can look at cheaper online deals.

Hi, yes they are as you would have the checks done by a proper optician.
I've been with them for a couple of years now and they've been very good.
I tried to change to the ones you wear all the time for a month but they didn't suit and they changed them back to monthlies with no issue and mad sure the new ones were right and just offered me a free trial of all the time ones which might suit me more.
You also get a good discount on glasses if you have a contact lenses account with them which can save you a few pennies.
