Hi Hun. I had a Gastric Banding last year and although it has made me really ill, I have lost ten stones. I came on here a while ago asking for a support group but could only find american ones and I empathise with your frustrations there.

What ever questions you have I will be very happy to answer for you.

Best.

Sorry to butt into your thread - DONNAKEBABUK I am trying to lose about 10 stone. I am 44 - did you get left with saggy boobs and loose skin on your belly after losing all that weight.

It really is a fantastic amount of weight to lose - hearty congratulations.

Susan
Dear Susan.

You werent butting into our thread hun, its a public board and everyone is entitled to join in and to reiterate, I am always happy to answer to questions.

I have gone from a size 28 - 30 to a 12 - 14 although I still have around 2 stones to lose now. It has been hell and if you can lose those ten stones any other way I suggest you do it. Anyway, I have gone from a size 44D breast size to a nice curvy 38C and they are NOT saggy (I am 40 by the way). I do have a bit of loose skin under the arms and on my stomach, but then again, I still have 2 stones to lose and have had 2 children also. I wont be having any kind of operation/s to remove any loose skin because if you have your arms done, you are left with horrendous scars that you will STILL have to cover and if you have your stomach done you are left with a huge smiley face scar so you still WONT be able to buy a bikini and look good. There are certain things we have to accept, that at 40 and having had 2 children, we WILL be a little saggy here and there. We have to learn to accept ourselves for who and what we are rather than for what the media portrays we SHOULD BE. Having said that I am going for a teeth whitening this afternoon lol !

Good Luck hun. I am new to this and dont know if we are allowed to pass email addresses etc, however, I would be delighted to set up a group if anyone would want to join.

Best Wishes.

Sorry, have only just seen your replies. I am hoping to have my surgery about July, but when the Doc asked me how much I expected to lose, and I said about 10 stone, he said that because of my age [62] I would only lose 5 stones. I can't think this is right though. I was on another hospitals list 2 years ago, but they lost my notes and I got dropped and lost my funding, so I have had to start over again. I know its going to be hard, but i am excited. I just want to get fitter, and be able to move about easier. I feel like an old lady and have to use a stick, mainly because of balance, but have adodgy knee too.
How do you pass email addresses on. I would be so happy to be in a group.
Hope you get to see this. [I am a Susan too!].
