I have recently joined the gym, in a bid to lose some weight. I have been swimming regularly but not really working out that often, however i went on both Thurs & Fri night last week, not for long just a 30 min workout on CV equipment. But this morning my Shins really hurt. Could this be something that i just need to experiance until my body gets use to the new healthy regime or am i doing anything wrong, i don't really do any warming up or cooling down excersies just reduce the speed on the equipment to a 'cool' down level for a while. TIAx

It probably is because it all new, I used to ache after swimming. Warm up it does help.
I don't know what you mean by CV equipment but if it involves a running machine then you probably have shin splints (look it up on Google) and it's horribly painful. You have my sympathy!
Yep I agree with shin splints. Make sure your shoes are very comfortable, not stiff, they need to mould with your foot movements.... stretch properly.... keep your lower legs nice and warm whilst exercising but ice them before and after.

Also you need to do some training to specifically build up the muscles in your shin. If the muscles start taking the pounding then you wont get the tibial stress.
