But, it is a major op and I couldn't get over how exhausted and limp I felt for weeks. So, you mother may easily have picked up a bug and will be not have any energy to fight any infections off. If she is still in hospital then they should be treating her, if she is back at home, I think she should seek an appointment with her GP.

she is home now she was home at the weekend, the hospital just tell her to see how she goes, but i didnt think it was normal to have to be up and down the stairs all the time going to the toilet.
also she cannot drink anything cold as it makes her feel sick, she can sip on tea though. is this normal or is it just my mother being a bit strange lol

My hysterectomy just left me tired and weak for a long time, and the symptoms your mum has do not sound 'normal' and I think she should see her GP as it does sound like an infection. I felt great after my stitches were out and it was just the tiredness that lingered for about 8 weeks. Get her checked out.
