Should I stay out of the sun when I am on antibiotics for shingles?

By antibiotics I presume you mean Acyclovir and for that alone, I see no reason why you should avoid the sun. However I would certainly avoid sun exposure as it may make the skin lesions more painful and increase the degree of blistering.
Read up on the drug, was there a leaflet with it or can you google it?

I'm on some medications which make me more sensitive to the sun and a friend got very badly burned the other week from going out while on medication which made him more sensitive.
