Apparently tonic water is a good remedy. This is because it contains quinine, which is what the GP generally prescribes for cramp,

Of course, adding the gin is purely to mask the awful taste;)
Question Author
d'you rub it on or drink it?
I imagine you would drink it. don't think they recommend topical application of the tablets either:0
I suffered every night with leg and foot cramps and I take a Quinine tablet last thing before sleep and also rub in a cream called Algesal which is a Local Analgesic and I can thoroughly recommend it, which I get from my GP. It is odourless and doesn`t burn. In fact I have just covered both legs and feet with it and hope for a good nights sleep. ZZzzzzzzzzzzz
I tried tonic water but can't stand the taste so tend to rub voltarol into my legs so I can get to sleep.

I find keeping them cool helps as well and have a dehumidifier I put on timer when I go to bed.
I have heard the if you take a calcium tablet everyday that eases the onset of cramps!!!
WELL? Have you tried our advise or do we waste our time trying to help you ? It`s nice to know when a response is made.
shylock I have been using tonic water for over 20years & it does work, I take a small glass at bedtime,But dont get the cheap brand.
