I am only 4 weeks pregnant, only found out on Monday. Ever since my missed period date last week, I have like a period pain (which is why I thought I was about to have my period). This is my first, is this low pain normal??
Thanks for any help.

congratulations dinga!

its early days but yes it is quite common to have a slight achy pain like period pain in the first few weeks. The hormone you produce when pregnant causes the ligaments to soften in readiness for your rapidly expanding and changing body and this can cause aches.

BUT if these aches are accompanied by bleeding or are very painful then please seek medical advice.

Hi Dinga, congratulations. I discovered I was pregnant at 4 weeks and had exactly the same pains as you, as well as lower back pains. From what I've read on the pregnancy forums, these pains are implantation pains. I'm almost 9 weeks now and those pains have subsided, but I do get the ocassional twinges.

This is a great site for answers, but I found also joining a Pregnancy forum has been great, as you can get so much info from childbirth experts as well as other mothers and prospective mothers. It's really helped to put my mind at ease.

The site I joined is http://www.babycentre.co.uk/

Good luck
