I've been taking protein supplements for the past year and going to the gym loads and have gained a lot of muscle weight. But I was previously a very unhairy person I noticed the I am beginning to get more hairy, hair on my arms is now beginning to grow thicker and on the underside of my arms and on my biceps and hands. Not a grotesque amount at all but I think it may begin to get thicker.

Does anyone know if this could be caused by these protein supplements I'm having, or whether it could be caused by weight gain? My girlfriend tells me it's probably just because it's the winter. Does anyone else notice more hair on their arms in the winter?

Thanks

Ben

How old are you, Ben? Many men get more body hair as they age

That explains it - you are still physically developing and it is nothing to with either training or supplements.

Exercise has been known to increase Testosterone levels, particularly where muscle building is concerned. This is probably why you are becoming more hairy.
My son has just said exactly the same as velvetee. He takes a protein supplement & works out at the gym also.
I'm a PT Sachs, at 21 he also still has high levels of HGH, which will also help to increase muscle mass more quickly. Testosterone is also needed for muscle growth, which is why women can't really get very muscular.
