working with a nephrostomy

Hi all, i have a temporary nephrostomy (well at least i hope its temporary) which is draining into a leg bag. the problem i have is that the hospital doctors are saying i am unable to work with this in and have signed me off sick for the time being while i wait for an operation date. i think they are being over-cautious as i do a desk job, and tbh probably do more moving around at home than i would ever do at work.
I know in my heart i should listen to the doctors but i really want to work. Does anybody here go to work with a nephrostomy? Could you reassure me please?? :)

Hi bednobs...no I haven't got a nephrostomy or ever had one and I sympathise with you and hope that it can be reversed.

Do what the Drs have suggested, but for what it is worth, I cannot see that a sedentary job would be harmful.

I've had a colostomy bag for a year before it was sucessesfully reversed & so can sympathise with you.
