I have recently developed a twitching in my right leg in the evenings and when I go to bed. It doesnt happen when I go to sleep just when I am resting. Its not painful just very irritating.
Anyone else experienced this?

I'd get your GP to check it out to see if there is any cause for it.

Restless legs are common but more common to be both legs and more than a twitch.

Could be a trapped nerve, maybe restricted circulation if only when you're resting? Or muscles going a bit mad. Have you been doing any exercise or such beforehand or drinking caffine?

Could be anxiety, are you stressing about something?

Best to get it checked out to be sure though.
There is a medical condition called "Restless Leg Syndrome". Go to your GP. I believe it is treatable
Hello JulesP
I get an annoying twitch in my leg sometimes as well, feels just like when your eyelid twitches! We have been using the Wii a lot late in the evening, maybe it's something to do with that?
Question Author
Not been doin any extra exercise and havent got a Wii so I cant blame those Im afraid.
I will go and get it checked out in case there is an underlying health issue, just wondered if anyone else experienced it really.
I have heard of restless leg syndrome and periodic limb movement disorder too which it sounds more like it could be. May be linked to caffeine, I dont drink coffee but I drink more tea than I used to.
Thanks for your thoughts on the subject.
Jules
Must confess I have this. Have not been to the doctors. I find that a foot twitches especially when I am tired. It is very annoying. Have got out of bed in the past and bathed feet in cool water!! Even wrapped a damp cold towel round the feet. Cannot be down to caffine both tea and coffee decaf.
Maybe it is an age thing. Everything else is put down to age. Good Luck
I posted here a couple days ago about Restless Leg syndrome and got good replies. I'm not sure what day it was but you will find it under the heading RLS.

Thanks mate will check that out.
my dad has type 2 Diabeties and he complains of strange feelings in his legs at night. he says it feels like he needs to strech them and move them.

It can be related to Vit B 12 too.
Hi Jules,

I suffer with restlest legs and very hot feet.

I sleep with my feet on a chillow and without that I wouldn't get any sleep at all lol

L.

I twitch all the time as I'm dropping off to sleep. It's not always in the same limb though - I can feel it in either leg, either arm, shoulder etc. It's not harmful. Can be a bit disconcerting to any bed-partner though!
I suffered with Restless Leg Syndrome until the Dr prescribed ROPINIROLE for me and now I only get it every so often - it affects either leg and can also affect the arms.
