As with everything you have to be sure that you are using it correctly, and for the right ailment. I have found that i get more relief, and for longer, if I start off with warm skin.(dry) The effects last for at least 24 hours, but maybe not so long if you have considerable pain. I use one of the cheapest models out, from Lloyds Pharmacy, and am very happy, virtually pain free, for quite a few years.
Hi Totterdown, if I was you I would start on the lowest setting, depending on your pain, you can then increase.I think they are very good, but try not to use too often otherwise like everything else ,it will not work as effective.
Thanks for that. I bought it a little while ago on a whim and would you believe it, forgot all about it. Now I thought I must try it on a leg pain but wanted a bit more a reassurance really.
It sounds as if you are using it on muscle, which is fine. I dont think youre supposed to put the electrodes too close to bone. I sometimes feel that the pain relief is a bit like being kicked on the shins to relieve headache, but it supposed to have some beneficial effect over and above that, i.e. promoting healing. But if you overdo it the electrodes can burn you, and then you have to lay off completely for a bit.
