I am 57 years of age,and since I was young have always done a lot of sport.....so always fit.
I need to lose a couple of stone, and I honestly believed that a low/non carb diet was the way to go.
I have been on a very low carb diet now for 6 weeks, and haven't lost a thing.
Any suggestions from anyone
Kindest regards
Mike

Are you following an actual diet plan or have you just cut out bread, pasta, spuds- obvious? There are carbs in most veg in varying quantities and sugars in drinks etc which can have an effect if you're looking to go into ketosis.
I can cut out the starchy foods and feel a lot better but the weight doesn't shift unless I apply myself properly and be really strict! I'm not selling anything, but I did 'golower' before Christmas, it's quite dear and you're paying to be babysat and sent all your grub but it does get results. In 6 weeks you could expect to lose 1.5 stone.

Thanks for that.
Yes I have cut out all of the obvious things, even booze.I have an exercise bike with a puncture (joke)
I check out all the carbs in every product, and I did achieve Ketosis and used husks to keep myself regular, but I seem to be able to go to the loo without any problem,so I'm obviously doing something wrong.
I will check out 'GOLOWER'......thank you
Mike
Carbs are high in calories and your body has sussed that it isn't receiving the same amount of calories as before, so it has gone into "starvation mode" and your metabolism has slowed down.

Your body needs Carbs and these low carb faddy diets are ridiculous. Eat balanced and healthily and up your daily activity.

To increase your BMR (Basal metabolic Rate) start doing a combination of Cardiovascular exercise and resistance training. Try to do Compound exercises, where you are working more than one muscle group at a time.
