left hand tingling
15 Answers
hi, for the past few weeks on and off ive had tingling in my left hand, just the half with my small finger and one next to it and down through the palm, sometimes it starts to travel up my arm, and also it locks at the right hand edge of my palm. Ive been feeling very tired and have difficulty sleeping even tho the tingling isnt there alot at night.
Anyone have any ideas what could be going on??? thanks

I would be supprised if it were carpal tunnel syndrom as only the median nerve passes through the tunnel which doesnt innervate (supply) those fingers, only the three next to them. It does however sound like an ulna nerve neuropathy, and given the description it sounds like cubital tunnel syndrome. I'm sure if you google it you'll find more info about it, but i would go and see youe gp about it, sooner rather than later.

I used to suffer from my left hand and arm tingling, but that soon stopped after i removed my finger from the electric socket.
(kidding) But seriously though i did have what you have described and it only seemed to happen when i used my computer on a certain table with my wrist bent at a funny angle, and since ive stopped using that table it has not returned,so check your not doing the same thing,or anything else that could constrict the bloodflow or twist or aggravate your nerves,ie..chopping veg, exercise, carrying shopping etc.. Log whenever you get this in a notebook and it should be able to help you find out whats causing it,and even if you dont, this log may be helpfull to your doctor to determine whats the cause. Also high intake of b-vitamins have been known to cause tingling in limbs. Good luck!

The tinglings you describe correspond with the skin areas supplied by the ulnar nerve, which God in his wisdom decided should enervate the little finger and half of the ring finger (lengthwise). What you describe therefore strongly suggests a problem with peripheral nerves, nothing more serious.
Oh heavens, Anatomy, such memories,
On old olympus mountain top a finn and german viewed a hop.
As she lay flat oscar's penis slowly mounted
sqad617 may remember...... Did I recall them right? Cranial nerves and branches of the facial nerve.

I did my time in underground dissecting rooms. Great stuff, you have a corpse stuffed with formalin lying on its back, and what is the first area you dissect? - the neck and shoulders. So you roll the body over and start hacking away with your scalpel. All the formalin has gravitated to the back, and that is just where you are slicing. So you get formalin rising up into the eyes. Then the demonstrators wander around and tell you that the body you are cutting up was once a GP on Trumpington Street, and you have just cut off his todger to sew to your trousers to parade around Heffers. Well, Potter Minor did, I didn't.
