Cancer is NOT always painless.

She must go to her GP.
all lumps need to be checked out by a doctor. march her to the doctors. be harsh with her, she needs to deal with this.

ask her what she'd advise you to do if it were the other way around. I'm sure she won't say, "do nothing".

Really Squad i thought it was painless until later stages, but for getting her to the gp you cant do it, you can lead a horse to water, but you cant make it drink, and its exactly the same with her im affraid, she did say to my dad if it is anything serious then she wanted to die without being pulled about and tested on, which in my eyes is damn selfish.

I just realised i spelt phobia wrong, how thick am i, didnt think it looked right. Sorry. x
Just think how relieved she will feel when she finds out its a 'fatty nodule' or a 'cyst' or something non life threatening, the relief will be immense I assure her!
tamirra.......she has the right to choose after being aware of the facts.

Nothing more that you can do.....fingers crossed eh?
There are many different types of breast cancer, some will show few symptoms, others will have more. Perhaps it's just a cyst, but it's ridiculous she is risking her life, because she fears going to the doctor. She needs to have a Mammogram.
velevetee..........we all know that.

Tjhe problem is that she will not go to her Dr.
and????????????

I think sometimes the fear of not knowing is worse than a diagnosis. I had a breast lump, I worried myself sick - I kept feeling it, reading books on cancer etc. I finally went to the GP who sent me straight to the hospital with a letter marked urgent - I was absolutely sh$$ting myself. I had the lump removed and it turned out to be a fibrodeama (non maligant).

All you can do is try to reassure your Mum and I think eventually she will go to the GP.

I Wish your Mum well.
