Lung problems?
5 Answers
Hi all, wondering if anyone can help me please. For the last week or so I have had this 'rattling' in my back, chest, and sides. It's quite like when I have had phlegm on my chest. I am going to make an appointment with my Dr on Tuesday but just wondered if anyone knows what it could be.
I am 3 monmths pregnant also.
Many thanks in advance.

White is usually nothing serious.
Green is a bacterial infection.
Brown may be more troublesome, when you say "rattling" is this with a stephoscope?
They say that if you can hear crackling then it may be a sign of pneumonia but you'd probably have brown phlegm and spitting up a bit of blood if it was that.

More information please.
Do you have a cough?
Do you have a temperature?
Would you describe this "rattling" as wheezing?
Are you coughing up sputum and if so what type, as suggested by everton 123?
Have you ever suffered from Asthma, Eczema or Hay fever?
Doesn't sound too serious, but without that further information it is not easy to be sure.
