Has anyone tried these? Are they effective at blocking out very bad snoring?

only if you stick them up his nose

earplugs are "tuned" high/mid/low frequency so you might need to experiment
but even then at close range you hear a lot of noises through your skull as well as your ears.

I`ve tried every kind & the best ones are the foam ones. Boot`s do them but I get mine from ebay. They are E.A.R & are in a WHITE box with blue writing on it. That`s the best description I can give you, so you know what to look out for.
