Need to breathe!!
9 Answers
Hi All,
Ive had a really nasty cold now for about a week, and im left just totally bunged, which in turn is making my throat sore from breathing through it constantly and making me generally miserable.
Does anyone know of any GOOD products that can clear my nose? Ive tried Sudafed, Vicks (Sticks and Vapour Plug in things) and Olbas oil.
Someone did once tell me theyd used a really good product that dried it all up in a few hours but i can't remember what they said it was called? It needs to be in the UK tho :)
Thank you in advance - a very bunged up Boonstone :)

These really dry you up but be careful of the night time one, it makes you very sleepy and can leave you with a bit of a hangover the next day if you take it too late.
The old fashioned remedy of Olbas oil in a bowl of hot water - used with a towel over your head to inhale the steam - is good but you have to keep at it, inhaling for at least 10 minutes twice a day. This is the recommended treatment by most medical practitioners and is the least invasive with no side-effects but it is not pleasant in this hot weather when all you want is ice not steam.
I do hope you feel better soon and change back from Boonstode to the lovely name Moonstone again. :)

Aww thank you Daisy and Sara, very kind of you :)
I did try Vicks in a bowl of hot water but it just made my nose drip to the point of distraction so i stopped.
I might stop past the chemist on my way home and see what else they can offer me as clearly menthol isnt shifting it.
Thank you again lovely ladies :) x
