i went recently after an unexpected encounter (protected).....i had all the test and got the all clear, i made a point of asking wether you can syill get aids / hiv if your sex was protected....

to which they told me , no if you have used a condom you will be fine.

but now my friend is telling me they are talking rubbish and you CAN still get it even if you are protected?

now im worried again after having my mind put at ease, that i could have aids / hiv and not know now until 6 months down the line.........

Well who do you believe, a qualified doctor or your friend? If you want to go back in six months time for reassurance then do so.
