Having spent 2 weeks with flu and then a 24 hour sickness bug Im hoping that i shall be rid of illness asap.

But when i was diagnosed as having flu (over the phone by a nice GP) i told her the whole family had neck pains, stiffness etc. She said it was just part and parcel.

its a week since i spoke to her, we are all well apart from little coughs but i still have this neck pain.

It feels as if the front of my neck has been bashed and bruised. I have more movement in it than i did last week (i couldnt even put my tongue to roof of mouth or stick it out) but to look up is painful.

I can look up a certain distance and it feels as if my neck is stretching too tight and its painful. To look directly above myself i have to open my mouth to avoid pain.

anyone else had this or know what it could be? im hoping it doesnt last much longer.
