Hello, posted a Q. yesterday - little one now has spots on her knees, wrists and back of neck, they're red, raised and some of them look like zits.

Nursery want her checked out before she goes back to them on Fri, but can't get GP appointment before Thursday morning. Any ideas what this is? is it still just viral?

She still has the rash in her mouth, she looks pale and isn't happy, but is still eating and drinking well.

chicken pox?
No appointment until Thursday for a sick child? Don't be silly' it's only Monday now!

The dragons at reception are rained to stop people seeing a Doctor. You can't take no for an answer.
agree with panic. What about hand foot and mouth?
Go to your local A&E exlain about doc appt and worried it could be contageous, they won't turn you away...

Aren't you worried?

Aunty Jem.
Phone NHS24 and they give you a 'sentence' to say to the receptionist and you will get seen by the GP within 20 mins.Outwith hours same but you have to go to nearest clinic.

I had to do that when I develpoed cellulitis and within an hour -even after having it for a few weeks-i started developing spots round the area and thats the first signs of septicaemia -I couldnt get an appointment but had one within 20 mins after phoning NHS24 -just as well it was caught in time -scarred for life but at least i have a life.

Seems like Chicken Pox and TBH the docs wont do much apart from reassure you.Once the rash appears thats them getting over the worst of it so its just a case of lashing them with lotion and making them happy and distracting them fom the itching -my 2 had them 2wks apart -what a month !!!

Bednobs is probably right.

Chickenpox very unlikely.

A&E is just that..Accident and Emergency....don't abuse it,particularly if it is infectious.

Drisgirl has the best choice.

GP service in this case is totally unacceptable.

Don't worry.

Hello, just a quick update: Called Gp again and now have an appointment for this afternoon at 4.45, so will let you know how we get on. I've spoken to the nursery and they think it's hand, foot and mouth or scabies. Lovely!

Jem - I'm not really worried about her because she's still eating and drinking and although she's a little grumpy, she seems ok in herself. I know that this isn't anything incredibly serious so wouldn't take her to A&E with this.

Dris - I don't remember having CP but I know I had it in december - merry christmas that was, for me and my brother, lol!

Thanks all!
