My saliva is a little thicker than it used to be for some unknown reason, and for the past month or so has been causing phlegm to build up in my air pipe and I have to keep coughing it up to stop wheezing. It is very clear except first thing a/m when it is slightly coloured yellowish. Sorry if I`m making you feel yukky, but is there anything I can take to clear the problem and my tubes?
Sounds as though you have a mild chest infection, if you feel well in yourself, then "splutter on" but if you feel that you have a bit of a temperature, then a course of antibiotics should soon settle it.
Hi sqad, I don`t have a temperature and feel quite well, but this has been going on for ages, and it`s not nice when I give `thick` coughing sounds in front of strangers, but, it has to `come up`. I hate to bother my GP about this and just want to know of a remedy that will clear it up. I used to smoke years ago but packed it in.
carlton....no big deal....the phlegm will be due to your past smoking habits, a chronic bronchitic problem, but if you are well in yourself, then live with it and let others live with you ;-)
If I remember correctly, you have Type 2 diabetes, so keep an eye on the colour of your sputum and "nip" to the Drs if it persists.
