My mum as been prescribed Meloxicam for a trapped ulnar nerve. She has been taking it for 2 days and is rather impatient and wants to know how long until it should start to take effect?

Meloxicam is a non steroidal anti inflammatory drug......pain killer.

It should relieve the pain within a week, but it may well be that the Meloxicam will never work as the ulnar nerve may need top be released by surgery.

I take Meloxicam on a regular basis for arthritis. It does not help with relieving the sciatic nerve pain I am experiencing at the moment. I am being prescribed a muscle relaxant and receiving physio treatment for the sciatica which is helping.
