Obviously, with running, you can expend more energy in less time.

However, running does not suit everyone. Whilst walking does not burn as much fat quite as quickly, it will still get your heart pumping.

The main thing is to tell your body that it needs to adapt to cope with different needs. Your body will then start to use up it's own fat reserves, whilst strengthening its muscles ... including your heart !

Study have shown the best way to lose weight is HIIT (High-intensity interval training).

You run as intense as you can for say 60 secs then run slowly or walk fast for 30 sec do this for say 15 mins. 3 to 4 times a week

If your just starting out do the above but for less time.

You burn fat more effectively.
