On Embarassing Bodies this week, there was a youngish woman whose teeth had almost eroded away from drinking coke (or any fizzy drink) in preference to water and especially during the night. It dissolves tooth enamel. Now it makes sense that coca cola can be used for cleaning some metals.

If you've ever received the email which tells you that you can use cola for cleaning the toilet, and it's used for degrease vehicle engines, then yes, it makes you think!

I don't think this is very widely known about and it should be among the younger folk and teenagers who drink it a lot. Apparently you must not clean your teeth immediately after drinking it as it softens the enamel which then gets scrubbed off.
