My work colleague is having this done and I am sure she is wangling a few more days off than she needs. (She has made sure it has coincided with half term!)

I have read that the "average" person would need a couple of days off. She will be taking 7 days off. She has and office job so no heavy manual work at all.

Many thanks in advance.

Up to 14 days.
I would say that each person is different.

I guess it is an individual thing. Just my suspicous mind. (She is reknown for liberty taking)
Just heard its 12 days now. Ah well.
She is trying it on,she could get back to work the next day

Thought so Poodicat. I know I wouldn't be able to take that long off.
If its just a routine thing when you get abnormal smear results back then my collegue had it done and was back next day. I spose it all depends.
I agree everyone is different. I had one a while ago and the advice given is to take up to a couple of days off work they certainly don't advise anything like 14 days! Suppose in rare cases when things go wrong it would take longer to recover but she wouldn't know that beforehand.
I'd have said two days off seems fair. As you say, she's probably really suffering from halftermitis!
