Suspected gallstones

my daughter has been suffering with shoulder pain, pain in her side and her tummy. she went the docs and they thought she might have a water infection. They took a urine sample and gave her antibiotics in case. She got her urine results back and they were clear so the doc said it looked like she had gallstones and gave her some difloneac(sp). Since then she had had lots of pain feels sick and had terrible itching on her arms. She went the out of hours and gave her some co-codamol for the pain, but tonight she is a s bad as ever. If she goes back to our g.p. 2 morrow they will most prob refer her for a scan but that could take a couple of weeks. does anyone have any good advice for us should i take her to a&e or wait? I've had gallstones and the pain was localised to the gallbladder area.

have you tried calling NHS Direct?

No I havent tried nhs direct but yesterday my daughter went online to nhs direct and they told her to dial 999. She doesnt want to be any trouble so I think she might go to a&e early in the morning after all the weirdos hsve gone hom hopefully thanks

she shouldn't hold out too long. if she's in that much pain she should probably go to the hospital. I wish her well x

how old is your daughter,

i have told her to go to a&e i am quite happy to take her and wait but i think shes a bit scared in case she gets kept in. She is 18.

She is a bit young for gallstones although that will have to be ruled out.

Has she missed a period?...pregnant.

NHS Direct.....total waste of time and public money.

Would advice you to see your GP today.
