Alternative to Lanacane to stop itching

Can anyone recommend an alternative to Lanacane to stop itching. I have a small patch on the front of my leg (comes up when I am stressed) Lanacane works really well but as per the instructions you can only use it for one week. Any recommendations please?

Try Lanacort.......Lanacaine + a steroid.

Try Betnovate.

I too have terrible itchinh, but mine is all over. My doctor prescribed Eurax cream but this didn't helt. I have tried steroid cream. anti-histamine tablets and other creams, but to no avail. I nearly go out of my mi nd, My skin also peels all over. Any suggestions?

Cortopin Hydrocortisone Cream was prescribed by my GP and worked for me.

If it's a regular thing and you want to avoid using harsher chemicals, especially those with steroids in, could you try something herbal and gentler?

Have you seen a doctor about it?

I've got a patch of skin on one of my outer upper arms which drives me mad and just won't go away whatever I use on it. I try to keep it well moisturised generally which seems to help and find Aloe Vera gel lovely and cooling when it's driving me mad.

as I said Jenna I have seen my doctor(on several occasions) and have tried all the creams mentioned, also aloe vera gel but no joy as yet, Driving me barmy!

Sorry, I was replying direct to TrudyTrudy as she hasn't mentioned if she has seen a doctor.

I'd be wanting to find out the cause of the itching rather than just trying to find a solution, especially if you are itching all over and using steroid creams! Have you had any blood tests, especially things like blood sugar?

Herbal might work for Trudy with it being a much smaller area.
