Hi guys,

My two and a half year old son has chicken pox. I have a party to go to tomorrow (without my son) but people have said it may be dangerous for me to attend as I may be "a carrier" and there are pregnant ladies there.

Is it safe for me to go or not?

I think I wouldn't go - the contagious period starts before you know you've got it. Have a look here

Go.

Pregnant women very rarely get chicken pox and the incidence (if they do) of damage to the mother or foetus is minimal.

Are you going to stay at home for 2weeks just in case you are a carrier?...NO.

I have had chicken pox myself. I may just pop in for a while.

But thank you for your replies.
Ive had chicken pox 4 times, my sister 3. The whole getting it once thing isn't exactly right. Although apparantly its fairly rare to get it more than once.
