Hard skin on feet
21 Answers
I tend to suffer from a lot of hard skin on the soles of my feet. I do occasionally visit a podiatrist and he removes it and I moisturise my feet daily as he suggests. I also pumice stone my feet regularly. Is there anyone out there who has had similar problems and found anything to remove this more easily myself or knows of a way of preventing it.
Thank you to anyone who can help.

However, I had a bit of a disaster with one of those last week where the blade came detatched and stuck in my foot. I`m still recovering. Someone told me I should have used a Ped Egg. Apparently they are very good
Hi dispenser
I have suffered from very hard skin on feet for years. As a Yoga teacher I spend a lot of time barefooted. I visit the chiropodist every 6 weeks without fail and in between I use a ped egg and aqueous cream and it keeps it acceptable. My mother had similar problems but there were no ped eggs then!

There are some great products on the market for this problem, in the home where I work we get a couple of different creams and heel balms from the district nurse, they are available over the counter at the chemist. you apply it twice daily and the hard skin will go very quickly but you must use it twice daily, getting up in the morning and on going to bed. it really does work!!
I suffer horribly from hard skin & deep splits all round my heels & insteps. VERY painful. The only thing that works is a good foot file & FLEXITOL cream. It's £9.99 a tube from all good chemists but it really does work big time as long as you apply it morning & evening. Wear soft cotton socks in bed as it's a very thick cream, but non-greasy.
I have found CCS Balm much better than Flexitol. More easily absorbed and not so greasy. Start with CCS balm which is brilliant which has a higher concentration of Urea and after a while change to the cream. Urea is the magic ingredient.

Initially buy a scholl foot file, either emery or metal and progress from there.
My hard skin used to split and bleed. Ordinary creams such as vaseline and Neutragenia didn't do anything whatsoever.

Little fish of some sort or other I believe Sandy. I think I'll stick to my CCS balm!!!
