B_cell Lymphoma

We've just heard one of our friends has been diagnosed with this.
I have looked it up but there seems to be so many different types. He's now on a course of chemo.
I've heard sometimes the prognosis can be quite good.
Can anyone give me some positive news?
Its a male 74 year old.

Well....depending upon type and looking at his age 75 years old and the level of expertise of his Oncologist.............I would say that he has an 80% chance of living 5 yrs.

In cancer terms, that is good news.

Hi Jem, Some time passed since you posted and I hope things are going well with the treatment. So many different types of B cell cancer. All I can say is that I was diagnosed in 2000 with B cell non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma already as common at Stage 4 (no Stage 5). Lots of treatment and ups as well as downs but I'm still here and very much enjoying life during my regular good spells in between frequent treatments. So 10 years survived, I am 63 now, and I feel still plenty of life left in me to carry on even after recent relapse of another cancer paratesticular liposarcoma and successful repeat operation to remove that and healing up nicely. PS Wouldn't you think that when they hand out the cancers one type per person would be enough :)))
