in the dim and distant past |I remember reading something about grapefruit juice inhibiting enzymes (or something like that) - google in medication and grapefruit (juice) - lots on there.
I take Lanzoprazole and if Calchichew is something for indigestion it'll be those two. Lanzoprazole is slow release and the indigestion thing will stop it being absorbed. IIRC.
It's the statin (Atorvastatin), which the person will be taking to help control high cholesterol, which is counteracted by grapefruit juice.
I am on a statin and I'm not allowed grapefruit juice, it says so on the leaflet in the box of medication.
I've been on lanzoprazole (more recently Omeprazole) and calcichew along with a number of other drugs (I'm sure I must rattle sometimes!) and trying to think what I've been told.
Boots are pretty good, they gave me a medication review with a pharmacist to go through all mine and what I should take when and with or without what, made things a lot clearer!
It's the Atorvastatin you mustn't have grapefruit with .I take statins and on the dosage label it says "Avoid consumption of grapefruit"
I'm sure I answered this somewhere else but it seems to have moved :)
