Estrogen and brain
9 Answers
I know I have been on this topic before. Here is my line of logic.
Women are living longer than their reproductive life, well that means past menopause their ovaries will eventually dry up and no longer produce estrogen.
Well, doesn't the brain need estrogen, where does it come from which enables elderly wiomen to think? Or men for that matter. Or is lack of estrogen a possible cause for dementia? Or possibly a lack of other hormones such as testoserone?
I did google some of the topics and it seems there are statements on both sides of the fence. Any useful information/coments I would appreciate.
Thank You
