My Doctor thinks I may be suffering from this in my shoulder and has told me I may have to have a MRI scan if this latest cortisone injection doesnt work! I had the inj two weeks ago and still no relief.
Has anyone else suffered with this and what treatments are available? I don't fancy an operation! Thanks

I'm out of my depth here but the NHS website suggests that your doc is probably referring to a possible rotator cuff tear. The site states that, while 50% of such cases may require surgery, keyhole techniques may well be applicable (making it a relatively minor op).

Start here:

then click through the links in black type (in particular 'Treatment'), to see if anything there helps.

An MRI scan is essential before further treatment is contemplated.

Buenchico has given you a fuller answer.
I have an impingement in my hip and had a scan as well. I'm having keyhole surgery in feb and doc is going to have not a look and then shave off the bumpy bit... I don't think it's major operation from his point of view but I will have to have some physiotherapy afterwards and I could be off work for six weeks, (but maybe not, depends how I do).
