I have a Vitamin D deficiency, guessing it's due to a malabsorption disorder I have, and am prescribed calcium supplements to help that. Similarly there there is a difference between having a lower than normal amount and it being so low as to cause symptoms as it does in me (osteomalacia - adult equivalent of rickets).
Is this a health related question for you or someone else or something more academic like a home/coursework question?
